Starts With Media Training
The MVP team is led by Kevin Long, an Indiana native, a 1992 Purdue University graduate, and experienced media professional. Kevin has done media training for collegiate, Olympic and professional teams, athletes and coaches, as well as Members of Congress, U.S. and foreign government officials. Kevin has led crisis communications efforts for a number of high-stress, high-profile interntational situations. Kevin founded MVP in 2003 after a successful career on Capitol Hill.
Anthony is a native of Washington, DC, and a 1996 Hampton University graduate. He is a sports journalist and has worked as an anchor at ESPN News, as well as sports anchor for Fox and ABC network affiliates in Mississippi, Alabama, California, DC and Georgia. You may recognize Anthony as the voice and talent in our online media training program. Anthony's experience as a sports journalist makes him a valued member of our training team.
Pete is a native of Kansas City and 1986 University of Iowa grad. He is an award-winning broadcaster, strategic communications professional and Pete knows both sides of the microphone. He's led the public affairs operations for several Members of Congress, including the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives for nearly 8 years, where he earned the unique distinction as the longest serving Communications Director for a modern-era Speaker. Pete's also worked in corporate communications and reputation management, serving as Senior Vice President at Hill & Knowlton Public Relations, where he routinely conducted media training and strategic communication sessions for a roster of multi-million dollar clients.
John McCaslin is a Virginia native and 1980 graduate of Old Dominion University. When not training for MVP, he is anchor of the Talk Radio Network (TRN) nationally-syndicated program "America's Morning News." He is an award-winning journalist, best-selling author, and began his career as broadcast news and sports director and anchor (in the early 1980's, he called Montana state high school championship basketball games with none other than Phil Jackson -- yes, the NBA's Phil Jackson). A former White House correspondent, for nearly 20 years he penned the daily "Inside the Beltway" political column for the Washington Times, Los Angeles Times Syndicate, and Chicago Tribune Media Services.
Jason is a New Jersey native, 1994 graduate of Tufts University, and 1998 graduate of Widener School of Law. Jason is an experienced communications professional and lawyer who utilizes media analysis to make strategic recommendations and identify messaging opportunities. Jason has trained numerous athletes and coaches. Jason has used his legal and communications expertise working with the U.S. Congress, a presidential campaign, and several grassroots political organizations which encourage minority voter participation.
Brad is an Indiana native and 1992 Purdue grad. He has been involved in Indiana state politics and public relations for nearly two decades. He also is the guest-host for one of Indianapolis' favorite morning radio talk shows when the regular host is out of town. He has helped MVP train numerous Olympic and professional athletes on-camera and with their interview and social skills.
Jennifer is an Indiana native and a 1993 graduate of Franklin College, where she was on the women's basketball team while majoring in journalism and marketing. She has worked with many athletes and coaches in the Midwest Collegiate Conference (now Horizon League), the NCAA men's basketball regional in Indianapolis in 1996, and the Final Four in 1997. She has been a radio talk-show host, a print reporter, and public relations professional. Jennifer is familiar with many aspects of collegiate sports, public relations, marketing as well as interaction with the media.
Brian is a 2000 graduate of George Mason University. Brian is also a strategic and crisis communications professional, having worked setting up media analysis and training programs overseas for the government for over 5 years. Brian has worked with MVP training a number of student-athletes.
MVP has relationships with many of the country's top media, crisis and security professionals, journalists and trainers. At any time we can claim one of these players off "waivers" and bring them to MVP to make a spot start.
